Our dear father James Berkovits, started back in 1975 in the basement of a small town called Knifetown with cutter knives from G.W. Steffens in Remsheid, Germany for Bowl Cutters. He quickly made himself a well-known name worldwide. As the company started to grow, more staff was needed.
Daniel started 1992 as a service technician with well-known brands, such as Blentech, Cozzini and Hoegger Alpina. David entered the company 1993 for the same reason with Marlen. Dan came along 2002 from the restaurant side where he was a chef. His skills were needed since we had a vision to improve a traditional Bologna sausage called Falukorv. This ringed, red and smoked sausage is a must for any hardcore Swede. Over these 22 years we have delivered more than 6 revolutions around the globe of large calibre casings. Denise was the last of the 4 siblings to start with us in 2004 and came from SAS booking when our financials department needed improvements.
A lot has happened when it comes to amounts and selection of goods within the company during this almost half a century. The portfolio have changed slightly but the focus and core is still the same. Nowadays we are located in our own energy efficient warehouse with 2 000 m2 /21 500 ft2 of storage and office space in Arlandastad, just between Uppsala and Stockholm with the Arlanda airport and highway E4 as neighbors.
Enviroment and nature is important so we became pioneers in a new type of heating and ccoling source. In a closed circuit brine is circulated in 5 pcs of 250 meter/820 ft drill holes. In the winter we heat the building and during our summers we use the same source for cooling since it has a stable termperature all year around. We have even received an Energy award since the total energy consumption is less than 75.000 kWh which is actually less than 3 average size family-homes. The electricity used is 100% Hydro-electric.
All cars/trucks have minimum Euro 6 emissions. On top of that we have 4 separately charging stations for electric/chargeable hybrid vehicles with 22 kW service.
The philosophy is still the highest possible service level with the combination of creativity and knowledge. We believe our background helps our everyday life in sales and support since we keep the same people thru the whole process. From the first initial contact, to the actual sale as well as the installation is done by the same staff. We would like to think that is how long-term relationships between client and costumer is built. Our goal is to be an asset to our clients and vendors.
